Garage doors can be made of steel, wood, fiberglass and aluminum. Most people prefer steel or wood garage doors for aesthetic and functional purposes. From the security point of view, steel doors are the best and strongest; modern embossing techniques help make your steel garage door look like a wooden garage door. Wood garage doors look best, and can be tooled easily, but they need a lot of maintenance.
If you live anywhere near the ocean, fiberglass door are perfect for you: they are not affected by the moisture and salt in the air, are light weight and can last for a long time. Aluminum garage doors have all the advances of steel doors, plus they are lightweight and cost a lot lesser than steel doors.

179m_raised_by_euro_garages_for_estate_expansion.php

Euro Garages, the private forecourt retail group and petrol station chain, has raised $179m for expansion. The money raised, which comes to around £110m, will enable Euro Garages to pick up larger parcels of properties. This will in turn reflect Euro Garages' focus on more profitable gas and oil production. Chairman of Euro Garages, Andy Bond, said that the company was targeting larger acquisitions to expand their estate. He stated that by this move, Euro Garages seeks to become the UK's leading forecourt retailer. The £110m funding will also help the company forge into other parts of Britain. Founded in 2001 by the Issa family, Euro Garages started out with just one small petrol station in Bury, Greater Manchester. But now the chain has extended all over UK and the latest funding project will enable EG to expand even more.

City planners in Cedar Rapids and Marion are proposing new design standards for garages. Homebuilders will construct 'Snout Houses' that seem more home and less garage.
The proposals started with the thought that garages should not extend as close to the street as the living area of the house.
Particularly, the snout house is house in which two-stall or three-stall garages extend well in front of the houses, creating divisions that seem more like rows of garages than homes.
"A lot of the development starts looking the same over a time. And it has led to some neighborhoods looking like garages. We're looking to execute new design standards." says Tom Treharne, director of planning and development for Marion city.
