New Garage Parking At Montana Avenue
A new car parking garage and a shopping complex is proposed to come up at Montana Avenue and North 27th Street. This was an outcome of an ordinance passed by The Billings City Council.
The garage will have a capacity for 505 cars. The new garage will be built on the already existing garage of Northern Hotel as well as the parking for the earlier Empire Bar.
The entire project of the garage and the retail space is estimated at 21 million dollars, of which 15 million dollars is expected to be raised in the form of tax increment revenue bonds. As for the rest of the funding, it would be sourced with tax increment funds on hand, parking funds of the city, sales proceeds of parking garage of the city's Park lV as well as the parking space of the Empire Parking Garage.
The council also promises to guarantee up to 2.1 million dollars for improvements related to Northern hotel.
