Garage Doors And The American House

A garage door is often treated as the front door of the house with three in four households in America using the garage door as their front door. For many homeowners, a garage door replacement is placed second only to front entry door upgrade.
According to the report in Remodeling magazine, the garage doors are one of the least expensive projects in the survey carried out by them but the value of this replacement was high because these doors improve curb appeal and a home's resale value.
A new steel garage door gives more returns on the investment compared to a kitchen overhaul or bathroom refitting. Though steel was the choice for many years because of its low maintenance and cost, it is being replaced by doors which are made with finishing that adds character to the home. Colonial style garage doors and ranch paneled styles are dominating the so called "refined rustic" market for garage doors.
